Canada Prize race for Formula 1 postponed indefinitely

The organizers of the Canada Grand Prix within the Formula 1 World Championship which was scheduled in Montreal from 12-14 June next Tuesday, announced that it was postponed to a later date to be added to the list of races victim of the emergence of the new Corona virus.
"We would have been honored to host the first race in the F1 World Championship calendar for 2020," race organizers said in a statement, adding that "we feel sad" to postpone the race.

The organizers explained, "The delay decision was not taken easily or quickly," noting that "throughout the past month, we have been in constant contact with Formula One officials and representatives from Montreal, tourism in Montreal and regional and federal governments."
"We have listened to the directives issued by public health officials and as a direct result of the Covid-19 epidemic, we have followed the recommendations of experts issued by the authorities," they added.

"For the time being, it is extremely important that all of our energies be pooled to overcome the Covid-19 virus," said Canada's Grand Prix CEO Francois Dumontier. "We will welcome you with open arms at the Jill Villeneuve circuit once it is safe."
The news of the postponement came after the announcement that Formula One officials were working with the champions of the tournament to review the calendar of 2020, as they hoped to start a season that saw the postponement or cancellation of eight races so far.

With the start of the 2020 season scheduled for mid-March at the Australian Grand Prix, the World Championships find themselves facing an unclear situation.

The newspaper added that the proposed solution to this, was the arrival of donations for each club leader separately to the main fund in an unknown manner, to reach later to the local bodies contributing to facing Corona. The London captain, Jordan Henderson, Manchester United...
