Formula 1 : talk about the season being able to start from Europe without an audience

The sporting director of the World Championships in Formula One, Ross talked about the possibility that the new season could start from the European continent without an audience, after the chaos caused by the emerging Corona virus.

The new season was supposed to start on 15 March from the Australian Albert Park circuit, in which drivers and teams resolved, but the parties concerned found themselves forced to cancel the race after the McLaren team decided to withdraw as a result of one of its workers contracting the "Covid-19" virus.

This was the beginning of the chaos in the calendar of the new season, after which the races of China, Bahrain, Azerbaijan, Vietnam, the Netherlands, Spain and Canada were postponed, and the Monaco race was also canceled in light of the expansion of the virus outbreak and the number of victims that it has harvested so far in the whole world.

In spite of the tragic reality imposed by "Covid-19" and which caused the stoppage of sporting events around the world, Brown was very optimistic in his speech on Wednesday to the "Sports Sports" network, saying, "From our point of view, the conditions seem favorable for the season to start from Europe, It could be a race behind closed doors (without an audience). "
"We can prepare a closed environment, where teams arrive in a chartered plane and then transport it to the arena, making sure that everyone undergoes a virus test, and that no one is at risk. We will run without spectators. This is not an ideal solution but it is better than not being There is absolutely no race, "recalling that millions of people are already accustomed to watching races from home on TV.

In light of the cancellation, postponement and the late start of the season, the Supreme Motor Sports Council agreed Monday, after agreeing with the championship teams, to extend the compulsory vacation.
Usually, the seasonal holiday is in the summer, specifically in August, when all factories are closed to give workers and drivers the opportunity to catch their breath, but given the reality imposed by the "Covid-19" virus, there will be no vacation this summer if it is taken. The decision to hold the season, after its adoption in March and April.

After the video conference between the various parties in the Formula One, the teams unanimously agreed to extend this compulsory holiday from 21 to 35 days, i.e. an extension of two additional weeks in the hope of improving conditions in relation to the Corona epidemic.
This comes after assurances from the Formula One administration that a large number of administrative employees are granted long-term vacations, in addition to reducing the salaries of senior officials by 20 percent.

According to the initial calendar after the postponement and cancellation, France will be the first race on the calendar on June 28 at the Paul Ricard circuit, and Brown hopes that this race will mark the beginning of the new season because "the ability to present a sporting event and distract people, will have a great benefit in the crisis that we pass It out. "

Brown said that there is a possibility to hold 18 or 19 races (out of 22 that were scheduled before the outbreak of the virus) if the season kicks off in July, explaining, "For any world championship, staging at least eight races is necessary in accordance with the laws of the FIA + VIA This minimum can be reached if we start in October, and here the crucial point lies in the decision to establish or cancel the season, indicating that the possibility of the season extending until 2021 is still being studied.
